just a matter of time before you guys get into the obscure fuzz monsters (besides Hawkwind, Groundhogs, e.g.)

on those rare lps being reissued, blogged, etc.

I remember when my friend Kate Gould showed us the 1st Black Sabbath lp, in 1970, and said this is the next big thing (or something like that).

It took a few years, but she was right!

Now they're my 15 year old nephew's favorite band.

did i just read Groundhogs???

oh man, yet another installment of the CPW blast from the past series!

Tony McPhee is a happenin guitarist and song writer (too bad about the voice)...and a shit kickin' trio...Solder, Garden, Ship on the Ocean, Thank JC For The Bomb...ya, i'll call him an Eccentric Man...i'll believe he is, even if he doesn't

Sunday nights between 11:00 and midnight CHUM-FM (in TO) used to re-broadcast live BBC recorded concerts of some great relatively unknown British bands...i had a shitty reel to reel that i used to tape the likes of Pink Floyd, Wishbone Ash and a bunch of others...one of those nights was the Groundhogs...some heavy shit...ended up snagging Split and about half of Cherry Red from the same performance off of Winmix years after all those analog tapes went astray

cheers!

midnight sun - glad to read you dig the Groundhogs!
I dig Wishbone Ash too.

and to johnnyonthespot - Amen to Blue Cheer as well!
I scanned that pic from a 1968 rock music tabloid.

funny you should mention Blue Cheer. Between them and Black Sabbath, they both are STILL heavier than bands that followed
